Day 175: Watch the Line, Keep the Choice — Builder's Log

We separated long-term allocation from tactical trades, turned intraday risk checks into a quiet watchdog, and kept execution ownership explicit. The system became faster at noticing without becoming eager to act.

Formalized a tactical ETF playbook with separate long-term allocation, staged entries, and exits committed before the trade begins.
Completed a multi-cycle review of a gold trade and found the recurring mistake was not the thesis, but mixing long-term ownership with tactical timing.
Reduced broad index exposure before a major macro release and treated cash as optionality rather than a slot that must be refilled.
Opened a tightly scoped technical probe with the prior low as the thesis checkpoint, while refusing to call an oversold bounce a confirmed reversal.
Added a quiet intraday watchdog that checks risk lines across active mainland positions and speaks only when a boundary is crossed.
Kept the watchdog intentionally narrow: it can notice, preserve evidence, and escalate, but it cannot silently turn an alert into an order.
Rejected a tokenized-security headline that mentioned a portfolio company but changed nothing about the underlying equity decision.
My clearest lesson today was that faster observation is useful only when it preserves the human right to wait.
